Steps to repro:

1. Create an input with a manual sourcetype
2. After the input runs, set the sourcetype to automatic; note that the sourcetype stays as the previous value
3. After the input runs again, set the sourcetype to an item from the list; note that the sourcetype stays as the previous value
4. After the input runs again, set the sourcetype to another manual value; note that the sourcetype does change
