Gmail Incident Response Action¶
NSIA can send email through your Gmail account. To do so, open the System Configuration page in NSIA and set the email parameters per the following:
Parameter | Description |
From Address | Set to your gmail address (e.g. john.doe@gmail.com) |
SMTP Server | smtp.gmail.com |
SMTP Username | Your login name (e.g. john.doe) |
SMTP Password | The password you use to log into Gmail |
SMTP Port | 465 (make sure your firewall and ISP allows this port out) |
SMTP Encryption | StartTLS |
Setting up an email incident response action can be tricky since email servers may fail silently. Thus, NSIA may not be able to detect the problem. Note that Google will always overwrite your "from" address with your Gmail address so you won't be able to specify the source address from NSIA.
